There's plenty of BTS clips where I break character. As someone who is awkward, I definitely found it challenging portraying my 'inner actress'! But the overall process was very fun and very enjoyable.
Set up for writing
Spelt my name wrong oops
Opted for the black and blue colours rather than the red tones just so that it's cohesive with my Derek Jarman - coloured inspired video.
UPDATE: So I ended up having to use the red handwritten one because the blue one wouldn't upload correctly :D
First draft - Notebook was far too small
Video of me writing up the first presentation draft
Made a small mistake where the S is - and I forgot to add an accent over the first E
Video of me writing the second draft.
New typography chosen for video.
I still couldn't get it to fill the whole clip which was really annoying so it'll have to do.
Me testing the angle (realised it was filmed on portrait mode instead of landscape oops).
Reading room in the Alex building - Last scene

Me struggling to edit like woah
I'm so far out of my comfort zone like miles and miles away, like galaxies away, I can't lie
Thought this flooring could have a cool effect but chose not to use it in the end
Different angles - testing
These are all essentially the same scene but shot in a different angle so I could choose which I prefer.
This was taken before I met up with my friend. I came into uni hoping the reading room was available and luckily enough yes it was! I placed my phone on the desk and hit record.
Back view
Me talking to audience ?? Didn't use because it wasn't relevant to my storyline
For this clip, I placed my phone on my bag and started filming. I kept thinking that the angle was too low and couldn't figure out what else to place my phone on. (Also wasn't sure I could grab a few of those files/books in the background!!)
Low angle shot - I think this one could've worked but there was something off about it that I didn't like. Ended up taking a break to go meet my friend so she could hold the phone for me.
Playing with lots of different angles for this final scene. Found this one funny, I look lonely haha
My friend shot this one, it looks better than the first clip under angle testing but I ended up choosing neither.
This clip was chosen for my pecha kucha. My friend saying 'it's your turn' is my signal to say my line - I didn't use the bit where I spoke, I only used the very beginning then cut to a closeup clip of me speaking.
1st Draft of final video
Looking back, I noticed it reminded me of something. A 1989 perfume ad by Cacharel . You can watch it here at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-uTsMsVLkI&ab_channel=WesleyVieiraFonseca
This version is only 4 minutes 20 seconds. No music was added yet either. In the final one, I included a few more drawings and swapped the writing and presentation around.
I honestly don't know whether I prefer it with music or not.
